Check-in at FriluftsByn
Before heading out on any of the distances, you’ll need to check in at FriluftsByn — the heart of the event. Here you’ll receive your start number, map, and race information. It’s also the finish area, where we celebrate together at the legendary after-trail. You’ll find the check-in times for each distance listed below.
Changing Distance at Check-in
At check-in, you can change to a shorter distance or switch between the Classic, Extreme, and Insane categories.
Start Locations
Twin Peaks and Three Peaks start directly from FriluftsByn, while Classic, Extreme, and Insane runners take a bus transfer to their respective starting points.
Cut-off Times
For your safety, each distance has designated cut-off points — times when sections of the course close. Don’t worry, the High Coast Winter Trail offers generous cut-off limits, but participants arriving after these times will be transported safely back to FriluftsByn.
Changing Distance During the Race
During the adventure, you can change between Classic 25k, Classic XL 30k, Extreme 35k, and Insane 50k. These changes can only be made at specific checkpoints, not anywhere on the trail. If you change distance, please let the team know when you cross the finish line so we can keep the finisher lists accurate.
Finish Line
All distances finish at FriluftsByn — where your adventure ends with tired legs, a big smile, and an even bigger sense of accomplishment!

DROP-BAGS
Check-In
Drop-off takes place at the scheduled time for your distance. You’ll leave your bag at the designated station, located about 50 meters from where the buses depart. Volunteers will be on-site to assist you.
Participants in Classic, Extreme, and Insane can leave a clearly labeled bag (maximum 35 liters) at the drop-bag area next to the bus departure point. Drop-off is open between 07:00–08:00.
The drop-bag service is mainly intended for Insane 50k and Extreme 35k runners.
Please note: Mandatory gear must be carried with you on the course – it cannot be placed in your drop-bag.
This is important! Make sure your bib number, name, and phone number are clearly written and securely attached (really tightly fastened) to your bag.
Bags that are not properly labeled or securely tagged will not be transported to Entré Syd and will remain in FriluftsByn.
Access – Entré Syd
You’ll have access to your drop-bag at the checkpoint/aid station at Entré Syd.
Bags will be arranged in numerical order according to start number – please make sure your bib number is clearly visible.
When you’re done with your drop-bag, place it on the “transport area” so it can be returned to FriluftsByn. Bags placed here will be transported back on the next available trip.
If your bag isn’t placed on the transport area, it will return with the final load or the next available transport after you’ve finished – which may take up to an hour.
Simple as 1–2–3: check it in, use it, return it!
Pick-Up – FriluftsByn
Bags placed on the transport area will be returned to FriluftsByn and can be collected in the large shelter in the inner courtyard.
Please note: the pick-up area is not monitored, so make sure you collect your own bag and not someone else’s.
Any unclaimed bags will be sent to your home address at your expense (shipping and postal pick-up fee).

WITHDRAWING FROM THE RACE
TRASH
Everything you bring with you into nature, you must take back. Trash bins are available at FriluftsByn. A key part of being allowed to host a race through the World Heritage site’s highlights is the requirement that no one leaves trash behind in nature.
FINISH LINE
The finish line for all distances is at FriluftsByn on the southern side of Skuleberget, the exact same location where you checked in.
AUDIENCE
The best experience for spectators is at the Toppstugan on Skuleberget or at Slåttdalsberget in Skuleskogen National Park:
