HIGH COAST WINTER TRAIL

AUDIENCE

Are you joining someone who’s running the High Coast Winter Trail?
Take the opportunity to explore the area on your own while still getting the chance to cheer on the runners and soak up the atmosphere! Here we’ve gathered our best tips for you.

BEST THINGS TO DO DURING THE RACE

Have some fun in Vinterparken, hike to the top of the World Heritage Site, head out on an adventure in Skuleskogen National Park or treat yourselves to a visit to Paradiset Water Park & Spa.

VINTERPARKEN »

The finish line is at FriluftsByn, and right next door you’ll find Vinterparken, where you can go ice skating, cross-country skiing, take a relaxing walk or have some fun at the playground. When you’re ready for something tasty, stop by Vinterfiket right by the finish line.

HIKE SKULEBERGET »

Choose between Höga Kustenstigen, one of Sweden’s most beautiful trails, or the shorter Linbanestigen up to the top of the World Heritage Site. At the top, you’ll be rewarded with incredible views and Toppstugan, where you can enjoy lunch and crispy waffles.

HIKE SLÅTTDALSSKREVAN »

An adventure for those of you who want to head out into Skuleskogen National Park. Start from Entré Syd and bring something tasty to eat.

PARADISET BATH & SPA »

Drive into Örnsköldsvik and enjoy Paradiset Water Park & Spa.

BEST SPOTS FOR SPECTATORS

Want to head out along the course and cheer on family or friends? Here we’ve listed the best spots to cheer on the runners while enjoying a great experience of your own.

1. TOP of MT. SKULEBERGET »

If you get the chance, make your way up to the top of the High Coast World Heritage Site. All runners pass through here, and you can warm up and grab something tasty to eat at Toppstugan.

Getting here: Moderate. 1.3 – 2.5 km to the top.

2. FRILUFTSBYN

Choose between Höga Kustenstigen, one of Sweden’s most beautiful trails, or the shorter Linbanestigen up to the top of the World Heritage Site. You’ll be rewarded with incredible views at the Top Cabin, where you can enjoy lunch and crispy waffles
Getting here: Easy.

3. SLÅTTDALSSKREVAN
& SLÅTTDALSBERGET »

If you want to head into Skuleskogen National Park, Slåttdalsskrevan and Slåttdalsberget are perfect spots. Start from Entré Syd and enjoy a beautiful hike. Just make sure to bring a warm jacket and something to sit on.
Getting here: Challenging, approx. 3 km from Entré Syd.

4. SOUTH ENTRANCE

At the south entrance, we have an aid station where you can of course cheer on the runners or hand them some extra fuel. However, we wouldn’t recommend this particular spot as there aren’t any special views or experiences to enjoy. There’s also nowhere to grab something to eat, unlike at the top of Skuleberget or at the finish line.
Getting here: By car, approx. 15 minutes from FriluftsByn.

Café & Restaurants

Skulebergets Top cabin »

Skuleberget Top cabin is open on Saturday. From here, you can watch runners pass by throughout the day.

Winter cafe »

During the day, Vinterfiket is open in Vardagsrummet. Enjoy our popular semlor, grab some lunch and take in the view right across the finish line.

Restaurant Vardagsrummet »

On Friday and Saturday evening, Vardagsrummet is open for pre-race hangouts and after-trail. Everyone is welcome.
