CLASSIC 25k/30k
The High Coast Winter Trail – Classic 25k and Classic XL 30k are the original and most iconic routes of Sweden’s legendary winter trail-running adventure. If you can jog around 20 kilometers and love exploring snow-covered landscapes, this is your ultimate Scandinavian challenge.
You’ll journey through Skuleskogen National Park – often described as Sweden’s most beautiful national park – climb Getsvedjeberget, and make your way through frozen forests and rugged coastline with breathtaking views over the High Coast.
At around 23 kilometers, you’ll reach the Decision Point – continue straight to the finish line and complete the Classic 25k, or take on the mighty Skuleberget to become a Classic XL 30k finisher.
With a generous 10-hour time limit, there’s no rush. Run, jog, or hike at your own pace, enjoy every climb and every view – this is Nordic winter adventure at its best.

Stage 1:
WEST TO SOUTH: 13k
The first stage takes you through what many call Sweden’s most beautiful national park – Skuleskogen. We enter through the snow-covered West Entrance, then make our way up Stampberget and Slåttdalsberget, two summits offering spectacular panoramic views over the frozen forests and the vast, icy waters of the High Coast.
If you’re up for a short detour, take the 80-meter path to the legendary Slåttdalsskrevan canyon – a dramatic rift in the mountain shaped by glaciers and time.
The stage ends at the energy station at the South Entrance, where warmth, smiles, and supplies await before the next adventure begins.
Stage 2:
SOUTH ENTRANCE – NORRFJÄRDEN: 10k
After leaving the deep forests of Skuleskogen, the route continues along the legendary High Coast Trail – one of Sweden’s most beloved hiking paths. Here, 10 beautiful kilometers await, with rolling terrain and wide-open views.
The first three kilometers follow a quiet forest road before the trail turns back into the deep woods and then begins to climb toward Getsvedjeberget – a mountain that offers entirely new perspectives of the High Coast: endless forests, frozen bays, and a horizon that seems to stretch on forever.
From the summit, the trail descends toward the energy station at Höga Kusten Kajakcenter in Norrfjärden, where you can refuel, smile, and recharge before the final stage.
Your choice!
DECISION POINT
After about 23 kilometers, you’ll reach one of the defining moments of the High Coast Winter Trail – the Decision Point.
Turn toward the finish line to complete the Classic 25k – a true accomplishment and the original High Coast experience.
Or, if you’re up for a bigger challenge, push onward and take on the Classic XL 30k, climbing all the way to the top of Mt. Skuleberget and the World Heritage Site, with views that will stay with you forever.
.
Classic XL 30k
SKULEBERGET: 7k
his final stage is exclusive to Classic XL 30k – the ultimate test of strength.
The mighty Skuleberget, the most iconic mountain of the World Heritage Site, rises before you as the race’s final challenge. The route climbs up the northern side all the way to the summit, 295 meters above sea level, where you’re rewarded with a breathtaking panoramic view of the World Heritage landscape.
From there, the High Coast Trail winds down toward FriluftsByn, where the finish line – and the After-Trail celebration – await.
FINISH LINE
The cowbells will be heard almost a kilometer before the finish line, which is located outside the restaurant Vardagsrummet at FriluftsByn. Wow, you did it!
Now you face the toughest choice – a beer or bubbly right on the terrace while you’re high on running and not sure whether to laugh or cry – or take a hot shower and then join the celebration.

I would do this race every day of the week! An absolutely incredible experience and what an arrangement and dedication from all the volunteers!
/ Jessica Näsström – 25k
So happy and grateful to have experienced this with so many other happy and friendly people! So beautifully organized and what an amazing nature. I was among the last in the 25km class, but still received by enthusiastic, big-smiling people at the finish line. The only thing I can think of is that I want to do it again. Preferably now!
/ Åsa Rott – 25k
Returned after last year’s premiere. Just as tough, just as demanding, but above all, just as fun. Absolutely wonderful to run in this winter landscape. I’ll be back again, this must be repeated!
/ Agnes Zimmer – 25k
An absolutely amazing experience! I’ve never run this far before and my legs hurt so much towards the end, but it was worth every step. Magical nature. I’ll be back!
