AFTER-TRAIL

High Coast Winter Trail is a truly beautiful and challenging experience, which means that when you finally cross the finish line, the endorphins will be through the roof. We’ll meet up for a cozy hangout at the Courtyard, the Winter Café, and of course, at the After-Trail in the Living Room. Supporters are of course also welcome.

It will be a wonderful atmosphere, starting with a cozy dinner that gradually picks up pace with sing-alongs. Before you know it, the conga train is rolling, and you’ll be singing along and shaking it off with all the other happy heroes!

OF COURSE YOU SHOULD STICK AROUND

Accommodation in FriluftsByn fills up quickly, but if you’re staying elsewhere, some participants change clothes in their cars and take the opportunity to shower and freshen up at FriluftsByn or head back to their nearby accommodation. If you leave the area, be sure to return by 7:00 PM at the latest to join in the fun and atmosphere.

FINISH LINE & WINTER CAFÉ

The finish line is located just outside the restaurant Vardagsrummet Terrace. At 12:00, we open the Winter Café in Vardagsrummet for both participants and, of course, the public, who often come in to warm up, grab a coffee, or have something to eat. Many who have already crossed the finish line tend to come out to cheer on other participants and soak up the energy at the finish.

FINISH LINE

The finish line is located in front of the Vardagsrummet Terrace, just outside the Inner Courtyard of FriluftsByn. This is where spectators and participants typically gather to cheer on the other runners.

THE TERRACE

Vardagsrummets Terrace is perfect if you want to grab a drink and still cheer on the other participants. However, spiked shoes are not allowed here as they can damage the wooden deck.

THE WINTER CAFÉ

During the day, we open the popular Winter Café in FriluftsByn’s Living Room. The Winter Café is open from 12:00 and offers snacks, hearty sandwiches, and soup.

SHOWER

Even if you’re not staying at FriluftsByn, make sure to bring a change of clothes and take advantage of one of FriluftsByn’s service buildings. You’ll want to stick around!

In the Winter Café, you can hang out after you’ve showered and changed out of your running clothes. Until then, you can bring your food and snacks to the inner courtyard or out onto the terrace, where you can also watch the finish line.

”Friends and family usually hang out in the Winter Café and by the finish line. Most runners typically mingle a bit in the inner courtyard before taking a shower and then spending time in the Winter Café, occasionally stepping outside to cheer on other participants on the terrace.”
Jerry, FriluftsByn

AFTER-TRAIL

At 16:00, the Living Room transforms. From the Winter Café to After-Trail, where the band kicks off the first of three sets at 18:00. We start slowly, allowing time for dinner, drinks, and reflecting on the experience with friends you already know and new ones. Then, we’ll work together to raise the energy. Regardless of where you’ve booked your accommodation, make sure to stay for a while. You can shower and freshen up in one of FriluftsByn’s service houses.

DINNER

Of course, you should stay and enjoy your achievement together with the other participants.

VARDAGSRUMMET

Our restaurant Vardagsrummet is right next to the finish line, and just before 20:00, the last runner usually crosses the finish line. We announce it so that anyone who wants to can go outside and congratulate the final hero with a well-deserved cheer.

FREE SEATING

Since it’s probably difficult to predict exactly when you’ll finish, we’ve decided on drop-in with free seating. With two floors and plenty of space, it usually makes for a really nice atmosphere.

THE FINAL ENERGY

At 21:00, the band goes all in for the third set. Don’t be surprised if someone starts a conga line, and suddenly you’ll find new energy in your legs for the last songs. Around 21:00, the peak is reached, and after 22:00, one by one, people start heading to their beds. We close at 23:00.

”The number of people who regret leaving when we broadcast live and share pictures from the after-trail has decreased every year. By now, most have realized that it’s definitely worth staying a little longer in the evening. By nine o’clock, the atmosphere is usually at its peak.”
Jerry, FriluftsByn

Dinner spots are drop-in, and we make sure everyone has a seat, even if it means rearranging the entire Vardagsrummet. This is something you don’t want to miss.

Together, we create the atmosphere, which usually peaks between 21:00  and 22:00. After that, the experience starts to sink in, and those staying elsewhere than FriluftsByn typically start to leave gradually.
